Slingerland Chrome Over Wood? Last viewed: 14 minutes ago

Don't know what percentage is shipping but seems a couple of hundred overpriced to me... They look a bit scuffed and you would have a job to get them looking decent again.. also notice hoops have been redone.. and the odd shells are a downer..

You would need someone to check out the thread integrity on leg mounts, both on the BD and the FT's..

Can't tell if that snare is a Festival or a Sound King.. if it's part of the deal? .. but that 26 would sound amazing..

Cheers

John

I have the same set on 13,14,16,18,26 plus 6,5x14 sd. They sound amazing and a little TLC could make them look the same. If they were all matching 3 ply shell $950 would be a killer deal but since they're a combination of 3 and 5 ply I'd say they're more on to the $650-$850 area. Now Vintagemore2000 is telling the truth: Don't even think about taking that finish off!

Snare is a 5x14 10 lug chrome over wood. And man, I kind of hate the finish but I want the 26" kick so badly.

I don't need two 16" floor toms. I could probably get $125 for one of them, $75-$100 for a 3-ply rack and $100 for the snare. That puts me at about $600 for a 14/16/26...

I will concur on the COW recovery-forget it. I bought one for $50 to strip and recover w/BDP. Tore big pieces of the mahogany veneer out, and I'd left it in the broiling Fla. sun and used a heat gun. Maybe you should consider a Keller vintage shell instead.

You could put some of the thin wrap over the COW.

Didn't know a 26" Slingerland bass was rare. Have a big brass badge 20 large beavertail lug example. Many hours getting the 5 coats of paint off.

Not there yet. Some 17 year old kid named Creighton painted the interior/exterior black in 1978 or so :-). Be a couple of days but will start a 26" Slingerland bass thread.

Oh, a 26" will maintain a constant sonic boom with serious thunder sounds as an extra. Looking for a 28" to go with it here.

Nothing special here but I like them.

I'd say $200 for the floor, $150 for the rack and $150 for the snare…I know they're not Ludwigs abut still! Very well made American drums! That leaves you with a 14,16,26 for $400! Boy, you gonna love how they sound! Why you hate the finish? Its great!
