that is seriously nice. I seen a kit covered in beer cans a while back. have wanted to do something like it ever since. but this is next level.

Yes, the famous cigar band kit by our fellow forum member Matt Alling (CT PRO PERCUSSION) who always posts detailed photos of his current projects. His custom rope tension drums are works of art (he's made several for my unit). Considering the ridiculous time and labor it must have taken to affix each cigar band individually to the shells, his asking price isn't unrealistic.

+1 to what Mike said. I've had the pleasure to see them a few times at the CT show along with a few other gems from his collection. The hand painted calfskin bass heads are very cool too. Great stuff from Matt.

Matt is a genuinely talented drum builder. His creations knock my socks off every time he posts some new project. The cigar band kit is worth every cent he's asking for it.

One of a kind. And as a drum builder, so is Matt.
