Buy the kit here on VDF currently for sale. And get the Supra that comes with it. Can't go wrong. Here are my 1970s lovelies. Bought em for $400 and the best money I've ever spent. My favorites.

I acquired each of my six sets of 1970s Slingerlands for between $400 and $800 (even the relatively rare 1973 Phantom) although I've spent more on detailing, Super Set-O-Matic mounts, and the occasional matching snare. They are fantastic drums.

There are so many to choose from. The one from Kansas City seems nice, and a good price. I am looking for a 2R Modern Solo, or 50N Rocker, my problem is that I want it in Sparkle Orange Pearl. Mark is helping me, I would listen very carefully to the guys on this forum, very knowledgeable , experienced, and will help any way they can. Good luck on your search....Bucky

You never know when it's gonna turn up! Always wanted a set of Sparkling "Pink" Pearls and one turned up a few months ago a few miles from me! It will come!
