Slingerland green/blue satin flame wrap--what IS it? Last viewed: 6 hours ago

I just came across a Slingerland kit in a finish I've never seen before. I looked it up online and couldn't find any info on it. Basically, the wrap was a satin flame wrap that contrasted between a hunter green and a "sea green" blue. It's a beautiful wrap, for sure, and original. I'm just wondering what it was called (it's not "green satin" or "aqua satin" or "blue satin"...I've checked) and just how rare it might be.

Thanks in advance!

Slingerland's "green satin flame barely looks green and is often called aqua satin, but that doesn't sound like yours.

I've a greyish black satin flame that was original, but I don't remember it ever being cataloged.

So, non cataloged Slingerland satin flame drums do exist.

The finish sounds like a finish the wrap places used to sell, but I no longer see on Precision's or Jammin Sam's sight.

The one I'm thinking of can barely be seen here...

...the one cut off roll...

Try to post a picture...the set sounds cool.

I'll try to get some pics of it. The green satin and blue satin and aqua satins always have a whitish sheen to them, which makes the flame. Now, picture a hunter green with the sheen being almost a teal color instead of white. It's pretty cool. I need to decide soon whether or not to pick it up...

The pics came out real small...but even from the pics it would be hard to tell.

I'd guess they're a rewrap as the color looks like the stuff I was trying to describe.

Many years ago I was sold a snare in that finish and was told it was original...it wasn't. (The seller took it back...)

If the wrap doesn't have that many scratches, and looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Hi, there. I can't help but join in on the conversation. Here is a picture of my 1965 green satin flame Slingerland drums that I bought from my guitar player for $400 bucks. Hope this helps. D' Drummer

Hello!, and...

... as it turns out, there DOES appear to be a glitch in the registration/sign up procedure. From what I could see, you probably did NOT recieve the verification email that was supposed to be sent to the email address you supplied when you registered, correct? If this in fact the case, send me a PM or email and let me know. Without that verification, I don't think you have full use of the User CP. Let me know if that is the case. BEST!
