Slingerland grommet question Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Just picked up a 1962 6 lug WMP snare in mint condition that was part of a student package that included a case and stand. Is Slingerland known for sloppy factory grommet installations that left splinters around the hole. The badge has not been tampered with. Thanks.

I've seen a fair amount of that in the Slingerland drums I have......

I like the Slingy six-luggers....you can get a sloshy rockabilly thing goin pretty easy tuned up past medium a bit and a touch of moon gel...:)

I have a six lug Slingy in WMP with similar (although not quite as obvious) grommet issue, and I agree, completely normal. These are wonderful snare drums that are often overlooked just because they don't have eight lugs. Nice find.-Rick
