Looks like that cheap thin plastic coating. Badges from marching drums are screwed in to give it some sort of identity. There is an odd screw tensioner on the tom mounts. Unless there is a strange reflection, the floor tom has a woogy dampener on the bottom portion.

I could be totally off on this, but it looks like a very questionable kit.

I just saw your PM. I'm with Rog- it looks questionable. I am not so much of an expert like these guys; I am a noobie. But my instincts say it's quite questionable.

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

Tough to tell from the picture, but those badges look like Slingerland marching drum badges from the 70's. The lugs also look Slingerland. That wrap, on the other hand, doesnt look like any wrap offered by Slingerland in the 70s or 80's....hmmm. Can you ask for more pictures - maybe of the drum interiors?

Good Luck!

I agree. Looks like the drums are probably from the 80's deeeeeeeeeeep tom era---maybe Slingerlands. They are covered in that Sparkle Brite contact film stuff. I would guess that the badges from the hard cases were transplanted from the cases to the drums. The tom arms look to be real set o matic hardware.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Those badges were also used on their educational series. but there are several things wrong with the kit. So without getting my hands on it in person I'd pass.

wow, That set looks all wrong to me.This is what i think sets been recovered and maybe a piece together set..Badge's to me look like the badges that Slingerland used on the marching Cut-Away toms in 1978-1980 slingerland also had a set with the cut-away toms...Badges used two screws to hold them on the drums..I have a set of Cut-away toms with a badge like that but in chrome with black letters..Can you get better photos of the badges?...Mikey
