Slingerland marching drum? -help ID Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I have what I believe is a marching drum. I know by the brass tag that it was made between 1928-1947. It has a solid mahogany shell w/ Maple? reinforcing rings. It has calfskin heads. It is black on the outside, and I am wondering if that is the original color, or did someone paint it? Is it in fact a marching drum? It is 26" X 12". Thanks for any help

Welcome to the VDF,This Is a late 20's to early to mid 30's Slingerland Radio king bass drum it is a drum set bass drum not a marching bass drum, the shell could be a solid shell if you could take a pic of the interior of the drum also the bearing edge, here are two of mine they are 1930's models and 28" the left is a plied shell the one on the right is a solid maple shell, also it looks like yours is a 26" bass drum?

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
