When Mapex was being made in Nashville they were the same shells as what Slingerland used, and yes they are most incredible sounding shells!! Pity the snare drum is absent.

Indeed they did, they were built under their supervision. Foley told me they were built as an indicator that Mapex could offer high end drums. That's when Slingerland showed up and things changed. A brief time in drum history, but worth looking into....Glad you are keeping them!

Wayne, do you know if the Nashvilles are Japser or Keller shells? I always assumed Keller...

Yes, I am happy to hang on to these drums. They are a slice out of the Slingerland history that was somewhat brief, and like someone already stated, never to be repeated...

Hate to say it but they used both shells and for no particular reason, but they were definitely built to spec, not off the shelf. Jasper/ Keller didn,t matter then, it was all about availability
