Can take a pic on Friday.. Mine are at a mates studio... They just clip on over the batter or reso rim.. (Spring Steel).. You may find a pic via a google search too. I found a couple fitted to a cocktail drum but could not save the pic..

Also there is a Pearl "Clone" regularly on ebay ... they sell at around 15 bucks..

Cheers

John

I'm guessing you just dial it in enough to kill the ring, but not so much that it chokes the head ..

Still hoping for a cleaner , internal solution, since the shell is quite scratched and beat up and not in collector's condition I may just put a Hollywood Ace tone control on it along with the Stick Saver hoops to make a clone..

Yes you adjust the downward pressure with the wing nut, also can pivot it from the "elbow" closer to the rim as required..

Arguably a better technology than an internal muffler pushing upwards resistance against the downwards stroke of the stick.

Much more controllable than that sticky gunk that leaves marks on your heads too..... IMO,,

From slingerfan

OP's drum is quite simply a Student Model snare. Nothing Radio King about it. Rapid strainer, single flange hoops with clips and no tone control.

Oh dear. You are correct. Nothing at all remotely slightly eentsy-teensy "Radio King" about that snare!

Consider me a fool, a philistine, nay, a barbarian for having referred to it as such. I am reminded of the time a young churl referred to my dear mother's beloved AMC Pacer station wagon as a "Nash." Why, I could have just died.

Now I am dying to know: how were you able to tell it was from after they stopped marketing a snare drum with the same feature set you just listed as the "Student Model Radio King?"

Being a "fan" of the "Slinger" product myself I simply must know your secret....was it the interior? An expert such as you would not just be taking his word that it's a '64. Or even a "Niles." Please share. I know my breath shall remain bated until you do so!

Starship Krupa, you are correct on all counts but one. I am not an expert but rather a student. I learn new things here and on the VDG every day. These sites contain a wealth of Slingerland knowledge for those willing to seek it out.
