NOB rims are very hard to fine..In over 35+ years in dealing in drums i have only seen a few sets with them rims.I have seen many many more COB sets....Mikey

Hmmm...the rims on my 50's clam shell look NOB along with the hardware.

The hardware on my both of my Toms look nickel.

Shouldn't the rims be the same?

I am pretty sure my FT rim is nickel.

Could I be wrong?

what type of rims did they have on a late 50's kit? i know the rims were stick savers. but were they mostly COB

I have a 16 nob ss,. But it is in rather rough shape. There are patches of nickle with stains on them,that wont buf out. It does shine up nice though. I was gonna put it on one of my beater floor toms. But if you are interested, I caan send it your way. If you are looking for a restoation hoop this is not for you.
