That's a student model snare- not a Krupa model. Re-wrap, too I suspect.

That's an interesting badge on the snare.....

The hardware on the set could save someone a bundle on a refurb of some unmolested RK shells...:)

Looks like RK's to me, except the snare. Probably a tribute kit, but the snare badge is interesting.

$400, why aren't you back with them yet???Jump For Joy

Almost too good to be true. I'd be amazed if it's not already sold. Heck, I'm two hours west of Chicago and if I thought there was a snowball's chance of somehow snagging these I'd be on my way. Well worth $400 even if Barrett never so much as laid eyes on them. If they were his, and you could find a picture of him behind the set, then so much the better.

Barrett Deems was known for altering original sets and this is most likely one of his sets. He had a large collection and much of it was personalized. Looks legit to me, albeit a re-wrap. Those badges without a vent hole were used on RK practice pads and on special personalized snare drums. Steve Maxwell has one of Krupa's snare drums and it has that badge with his name on it.

Thanks for all the input here. I have one guy ahead if me... Which means they are probably gone. If I do happen upon a miracle, I'll let you guys know! :)

I'm third in line to see it, but I'm sure it won't last. I'm glad it will go to a knowledgable drummer! Hate to see some yahoo dismember it or rewrap it.

Looks to be original. Might even have the cymbals laying around somewhere. Be sure to ask about cases as well.

A rewrap would be easy to spot. Wrap as original would go into the scarf joint. If the wrap on there now overlaps the seam well there you go...rewrap. Still though a pretty sweet deal for $400!! If it's a older rewrap that would be cool. So guess we'll have to see. Could have been for a display or clinc BD was a part of. Or just a big BD fan. That's a cool badge on the snare this one has some interesting points to it.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
