I am a band director who has an older Slingerland drum set we don't use at school anymore. I have a student I was going to give it to or sell it to, but I am not sure what it's worth. I thought I'd post here and see what the drum experts have to say.

From what I can tell it's marine pearl from the 70s with a student aluminum shell snare. All heads are original except 1 ludwig on the BD. The BD pedal is not original, and there are no cyms or cym stands. It's a little bit worn from school use.

Sizes (some sizes I haven't seen before so they could be wrong):

BD- 16x24

SD- 5x14 no heads, no stand

Toms- 10x14 and 16x16

Anything you know about it's possible history or pricing would be helpful.

with all you have if the student is going to take this, ,the snare drum is an aluminum student model they sell on ebay usually in the $75.00 range the other three drums would at least sell for $350.00 the 10x14 is a concert tom, meaning a One headed tom, not suggesting this but it can be drilled for another head on the bottom,, tell him $400.00 he will be getting a good deal

400.00 sounds about right,I used to have a snare just like that and everyone I have seen has been dented like that,I always thought it was because it was dropped,but there is no beads to strengthen the shell so maybe that is part of it.

those aren't dents that is the crimped snare beds! these snare drums to me are one of the Biggest Vintage SLEEPER Snare drums on the planet, they are supurb, they come in eight and ten lug models!

You could blow some lugs and a rim on that tom and make that into a sweet kit. Love that one. Thanks VM2K for the heads up on the snare. Didn't really know that. Always a pleasure to get educated from the boyz in the web.

Well, this is the nicest school kit to surface in a while. I was right on the money I think in my first look at it today. I just hate to be beat up by you guys for telling someone a value on American drums...since I'm ignant...x-mas3
