Slingerland snare help? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

Need some help identifying this snare:

5x14, 8 lug, feels heavier like a COB?

Niles black, silver oval badge. Bought along with an ugly plastic case and stand (like a school snare kit)

Thanks ahead of time for the help!

A magnet is our friend. COS had no strips, except for the few no strip COB. Magnet sticks COS. Looks very nice. The top head is maybe original. Not bad snares. Photos of stand and case? Might be interested if you want to part with same.

Thanks!

That should be the COS "Festival" model... & with the original "True tone" batter head..

Recommend tune it high, put on some ear pads, and then stand well back... NOW do a rim shot....

Cheers

John

Ah, I thought magnets stuck to brass, that's my mistake - COS it is!

I'll snap a shot of the case and stand tonight, and yes, the original Truetone heads are on it, and in good shape.

The chrome needs a lot of shining, bit other than that, good condition.

Thanks for the help. Not sure if I'll keep or sell, I'll at least tune it up first haha.
