Hi I have a 1965 slingerland snare that I am trying to find out what it is I think it is a student but not shire it looks to be single ply wood its a 5 by 14 all the student ones I can find are 5.5 by 14 it is 6 lug with a raped straner

Welcome ... sounds like a nice old snare. Not finding anything in the 65 catalog that lines up with your description. That said I think 6 lugs pretty much means it is student model.
