slingerland snaredrum, 16 lugs tophead, 8 lugs bottomhead!! Last viewed: 2 hours ago

hello everybody who is in to vintage drumstuff. since I'm quite new in this, forgive me if I write things that seem obvious to you quys, the speciallists. furthermore, English is only my third language, so comments on that are very wellcome..

My Slingerland snare has 16 lugs on the top head, and 8 on the bottom head!

it is a chrome one, 14 inches wide and around 5 inches deep. it sounds very good with a direct attack, even when played very softly. It has a siver/grey, oval-shaped badge, so I think it must be from the 70's.

the serial number is 441104 (and I thought that dated from the 60's).

So it is a special one... can you help my with this one? thanks, wim (belgium)

That is a slingerland 2-1 and not from the 60's, I'm not sure where you got that information.

This web site has an excellent Slingerland section by DrCJW that is the best source for dating Slingerland drums.

The badge should be silver/black.

Click Here to see anothe one...

You should get some pictures of the drum and then post it so we can see it...

Thanks

David

Are you sure it's not 12 on top and 6 on the bottom?
