Are these 70s chrome Slingerland snares (Festivals?) with rapid strainers and no lines all steel? YouTube is no real barometer for sound, but judging from videos they sound pretty good…and I don't hear a drastic difference between these and the Krupas that tuning/heads can't fix. Plus the Krupas cost more and have Zoomatics that are almost always in bad shape.

I figured these things would be a steal with all the above as factors, but there are so many of them and they're well-priced. Is the COB tag just an automatic price hike and having a steel shell that much of a stigma?
