Slingerland Super Rock Outfit 51N Last viewed: 50 minutes ago

Somewhere between 1977 and 1979.

Completely tarnished and scratched up chrome with dull, lifeless lacquer when I bought it.

15 hours of work later and it shines like new.

Great looking kit! Yes, it is close to the Pop Outfit 58N. The reason I say "close" is that the official 58N also had no front head, lugs or bearing edge. The interior was lined with a chromed vinyl material. Still, I see more of your kit with the "normal" bass drum than with the single-headed bass drum.

Absolutely, I've always loved restoring things.

Thinking about adding a few vintage kits to the backline inventory.

I'd love a Vistalite and a Roger's Holiday at some point.

Yes, I have both hoops.

Identical, maple inlaid with a chrome strip.

I haven't put it on as the batter head is a mess.

All lugs, keys and hardware on the bass drum match.
