So, turn out two of my tension rods on my Sound King are rusty and don't look particularly good. I want to replace them with clean ones, but don't know if there is any difference in tension rods (other than length), 60's vs. 70's vs 80's. I always like to be period correct if replacing anything, but I honestly don't know how I can tell if I am picking up the correct piece of Ebay.
Any help?
Here is a photo of the tension rod, with ruler. Looks to be standard 2" rod. I would date this snare around 1973 or so.
Sorry for not being exact, looks like total length of the rod is actually a little over 1 3/4".
Without the washer, it measures 1 1/2" to just below the collar.

By the way, other than size, is there any change in the style, composition or anything else when it comes to tension rods for the SK...say for the period of late 60's through late 70's? If there was a change, could you tell me what that was?
Your tension rod features the blips on the head, which are period correct. If I'm not mistaken, earlier 60s rod heads were flat faced, but I'm not sure exactly when the transition occured.
