So I think I have found a clam shell throw off/strainer. It is missing only one part. I just need help trying to figure out what I can use for the missing knob. I've never seen a clam shell in person, so I don't know that the insides of the knobs would look like. The knob itself looks like the ones on zoomatic's. Anyone have a pic of what I am missing?

Your missing the adjustment knob assembly and spring
Go here http://www.coopersvintagedrums.com/snared.htm
If the link dosen't work, just google Coopers vintage drums, click on snares, and scroll down the page.
Scroll down the page to see the pic of the butt end

I could use the throw off side if you want to sell/trade!
Blair, I have used tone control knobs in the past. The type with the long threaded rod attached. Probably an old WFL or something like that.

I'm going to need that side too, but I do have a line on another throw off side that I can try to help you out with. It needs the the lever, but you can buy that. let me know.
Here's a pic of the tension side assy.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

I need the throw side to complete a solid maple 5-1/2 by 14...so hope you can hook me up!
Did Puresound ever offer wires for these drums? Wanna say they did....
Yes PS offered wires for both Clamshell and 3 point strainers.

OK..thanks
I think finding the tension side assembly is going to be tough to find. Any ideas on what I can use as a stand in until I do?
I got the stuff in the pic yesterday and it looks great. Paid a pretty penny for it, but from the looks it's worth it. Throw off is mint, so I'm happy. But I still can't use it without the tension assembly.
