However, I see room for negotiation. Assuming equal condition: If the satin kit also comes with a separate single arm so I can use it as a 22,13,16 and there is an agreeable amount of cash in the bass drum I would do the trade. Generally speaking, Slingerlands make good trading drums because of their tendancy to lower overall values. So you can trade and avoid the actual value issue because few of the 60's/70's Slingerlands are worth a lot of $$. I've seen some sweet Slingerland kits for very good prices. Never really understood it, but it's a fact. With all the craze on 18" bass drums, I purchased an 18,12,14 in mahongany outer ply a few years back for well less than $1000. You're lucky to get a Rogers 18 all by itself for $2k and let's not talk about those Gretsch 18's.
