I posted about a student shopping for a Slingerland set for $200 a while back, and here's an update with some more pictures.

I have to admit I am jealous of him and wanted to abduct his drums. These things weigh a ton! I only looked at the inside of the bass drum, and they were 5 ply. The heads on top and bottom are still there from the factory, and don't have any dents. This kit is in great condition.

I didn't have much time yesterday to mess with them, but we pulled the blanket collection out of the bass drum, uncranked all of the mufflers, and gave it a rough tune and it sounds pretty good! Especially considering the 30+ year old heads.

I know the cymbals aren't worth much, but I was pleasantly surprised. They sound great.

I plan on untaping the snares from the bottom head DOH and doing a little more fine tuning next lesson. Not a bad buy for a brand new 12 year old student!

Yeah..those 5 plys sound really good,and those Paiste's are surprisingly good.I havs a 404 22" ride that I won't part with.Great deal for 200 bucks.

Not to be a dork, but I love those Iron Cobra Jr pedals. IMO they are the best pedal for the money out there. Just take that beater head off and replace it with a standard felt ball beater and its all you can ask for!

Nice drums! I LOVE the 5 ply Slingys. Well...lets face it...I love ALL Slingys!!! That kid is gonna grow up to have great taste in drums!
