Slingerland Vintage Drums Last viewed: 6 hours ago

I may be selling this 1966 Slingerland kit in a beautiful champagne sparkle finish. I wanted to post it here before I go the ebay route. The kit is all original except for the Premier tom holder on the kick and tom mount on tom. The wrap is vibrant and tight and the drums sound fantastic.

I'm looking for $900 shipped obo, thanks.

I thought everyone loved champagne sparkle, now don't let the Premier tom mount and holder hold you back, make an offer. This is still a very clean, classy looking kit and ofcourse it sounds fantastic.

Yup, I absolutely love it! I am having an early 50's Slingy 13,16,24 (Krupa outfit) wrapped in the color currently. If the wrap job wasn't costing as much as what you are asking for the kit...we would have been talking haha.

Anyway, good luck with the sale. Good lookin' kit!

This kit is gorgeous.....but the reason that you are not getting a great deal of interest is that nobody has any money these days! Hence the popularity of the MIJs. No, I am not trying to highjack this thread into a big debate about American verses MIJ (Please don't)....just an observation because I sorta felt bad for ya.

It would be a great time to trade actually. You would get much more bang for the bucks. Problem is,a lot of people think thier gear is worth way more than it realistically is.

Hit like you mean it!!

Trading is a great idea. At the same time, though I have quite a bit to trade, I am not in a position to do so. I just started 'collecting' last year and have not even had the time to play all of these. Each will be getting a total strip down cleaning and also edgework (at least inspection). I am a grad student (seminary) and have not had the time to 'play' with many of these. I bought each one because there was something I totally loved about each and it would be difficult to chose which one to trade. Maybe after I have the chance to play/and/or record with each of them I will have a better idea of which, if any, I would be willing to trade. I bet many of you can relate that when you decide to buy, it usually is because you really want them alot - thus resulting in a tough decision of which 'kid to put up for adoption.'

Getting back to the thread topic - have not had a chance to do much of anything with my 68 Slinger BDPs, but I love them already as they are so darn pretty to just look at! Meanwhile, this kit here is a classy color that screams character, and surely they sound great too.. Somebody will be blessed to have them and I think it is only a matter of time before somebody here snags them up or offers a trade.

Say, Johnnyringo, what would you consider for a trade? I have a friend with a white Slinger kit from the 70s (I believe) - would you be interested - his is a 5 piece and maybe you could do that straight up or with some added cash. OR are you looking to get out of a Slinger kit?
