Slingerland White Tiger Question Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

I may have a chance to get a nice looking White Tiger Wrap Slingerland kit from the 60's for just under a grand. It has an 18 inch kick, 12 and 13 inch toms and what looks to be a 16 inch floor tom but may be a 14 that just looks bigger next to the small kick....no snare.

What is the rarity of this wrap and kit with the 18 inch kick and would it be a good investment for that money?

Get it ! You'll have one of the most unique drum sets around.

Two things ...

First - if it's the real deal, that's a pretty cool wrap. The sizes make it ... odd ... to say the least.

Second - look very closely at the kit. Study it to ensure it is original. There are no pictures, so obviously I have no opinion on this one. Just be careful, that's all.

Unfortunately I have no pics. May look at the kit again in a day or two and see if I can get some. Looks legit to me but gonna look it over more closely. Are 18 inch kicks less rare by Slingerland? Seems like a lot of their catalog kits from the 60's had em.

May be a "Modern Combo" outfit. That set had an 18" bass, two mounted toms and a 16" head and 14" deep. The toms would all have been single headed, but were easily converted to double. I did that to a couple of Slingerlands; one was white tiger.

This seems like a pieced together set (not necessarily a negative thing), but you would want to check it out ,..hands on. It could be nice to play & display, but may not make for a good resale at some time in the future.

So basically I am hoping for Jet Outfit sizes with an added tom. Correct?
