I never would had tried this on a collectable drum. I didn't pay much for this Slingerland six lugger, so I figured this would be a good candidate to try it on, especially since it was so yellowed, I couldn't really make it any worse. But please listen to what Jim said, be very careful. It's a good idea to practice on a drum you don't care about or just a piece of yellowed wmp wrap.

How did you stop the LT from digging into the wrap after desired results obtained?

I think the most important thing to remember is to rub gently, don't dig into the wrap and don't leave the LT on too long. Do a small section at a time and have several clean rags handy. I put a small amount on one rag and once I saw the yellow come off, I took another clean rag and rubbed the area I had just finished. It's really not too difficult, just be careful and take your time.
