Need a decent set.
P.S.: Not considering Puresound. They would be a last resort.

Just curious.. as I'm up for a set too.. why not the Puresound..
Cheers
In my experience, they don't have the same crisp response as the originals. I've tried Puresounds on a Super Sound King and Radio King and was not happy -- too much ppfffffffft. I haven't tried the Zoomatics because of this. Maybe they're decent and perhaps someone here is happy using them.
I DID say they're a last resort and may give Puresounds another try if I strike out finding Zoomies.
Ok thanks..I did once have a 6.5 cos with original Zoomatic wires..but it was stolen too many years ago for me to recall how it really sounded.
I bought another 6.5 cob about six weeks ago fitted with puresound 12 strands.. its not quite right.. so I want to fit a 16 or 20 "something"? to it.
Hence my question..
Cheers

Although I've not tried them, I've heard good things about the Canopus
Vintage wires.
I believe that they're available from www.maxwelldrums.com and probably
other places.
Hope this helps.
