Hi All, if you can help me out here I would appreciate it. I have not seen a grommet like this on a slingy badge. So it looks tampered with. Also the shell construction. Maybe these were unwrapped and finished? Maybe they are Keller shells and slingy hardware? Could they be 70s or 80s slingy shells? Any help about any of this would be most appreciated.

Thanks,Ed

It all looks good for a 5ply Slingerland shell. I will say the bearing edges look too rounded for that time frame, but everything else looks normal.

Hi BigE!

As RogerSling said, the grommet is original Slingerland. The bearing edges do look odd, as the 5-ply shells had very sharp 45-degree edges, with no back cut. I had a Buddy Rich kit back in the mid-80's with 5-ply shells. The worst edges I'd ever seen! Slingerland didn't seem to understand the concept of a level edge surface back then! My heads really buzzed due to uneven edge!
