Slingerlands Last viewed: 17 minutes ago

Hi...I came across a set of Slingerlands that are up for sale. I was told that they are 1964 vintage. Would like to confirm that and also get some idea of value. Sizes are 24-18-13 with 5-1/2 x 14 COB snare. WMP finish is fantastic, hardware is pristeen, heads and logo are original.

Thanks!

Greg

More likely around 1974 I think.

(just going by serial number and the later patented version of the Setomatic Mount).

Cheers

Despite the incorrect dating, that is a very nice drum set.Perfect sizes, popular wrap in good shape,hardware-excellent.If it's priced $1500-$2000,that is a good price,at least to me...Burger Kin

Yep, 74 or so. It's a black & silver badge on the higher side of 100k s/n. if it was black & brass that s/n may be 64 but it's not. Also it has 70's T's on the bass. And as longjohn said, the Setomatic mount which came out in 68.

They're nice looking drums but the snare has some waves and dings in it and that front bass hoop looks like it's got some warpage. What's the asking price?

I would concur with 70's. I also think the price is fair. The Krupa Sound King snare is a bonus. I've seen smaller sizes, 13/16/22, without a snare, go for more that $1500 here. Are they 3-ply with re-rings or the later 5 ply drums? While the 3-ply drums are considered to be more collectable than the 5 plies, I've A-B'd a set of each and found practically no difference in the sound from either set. Very nice, wish I had these!
