Well, I wound up keeping my Slingerland red glass glitter kit and I picked up a Radio King snare in silver sparkle. I believe it's from the 60's, I think it looks cool with the kit. Needless to say, it sounds great.

I have never seen a 3 point strainer like that ?
Mark!
That's because it's a 2nd generation/60's era 3 point! Here it is on my 1967 Slingerland Radio King in WMP. No thread hijack intended Johnny... but thought you might like to see it too!

PS: NOT a model that BR ever played, but classy enough where when I found it, I had to buy it.. and .. I have gigged it many times too. GREAT sounding drum as JR would attest!

Tommy the adjustable lever is what threw me on Marks drum
Mark!
Yeah... I figured that was a subtle difference between the two.. and .. of interest: It's not that it's adjustable per se, but more of a way one can rotate the handle down and out of the way so the drum will fit in a drum case! My 1955 Slingerland RK had that feature as well, and I did indeed have to reposition the handle for packing/transport! Here's a pic of the 1955!

Indeed... his handle extension doesn't quite look OEM. In function however, no problem! Your '52 is a BEAUTY Mark!!

Great looking kit and snare JR. I can see why you're keeping them. I've got a love affair with Radio Kings myself. I've got a late '50s Gene Krupa WMP model and a Cloud Badge BDP. Both are 7 x 14. I'm on the lookout for an 8 x 14. I've seen a few, but they were in bad shape.
Congratulations on such a fine kit.
