Slingy Cocktail Drum? Last viewed: 59 minutes ago

Not sure what I got but I like it. Hardware looks like Slingerland but no stamp date on the inside and no badge or vent hole. Looks like a 3 ply with rings. Any idea if this would be a Slingerland or is it definitely something else?

most certainly Slingerland cocktail drum looks early 60's. Take a magnet and see if the rims are brass or not steel it will stick to very firmly.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I have not seen that chrome strip midway around the shell before, but the shell & components look legit...

Cheers

So your remark about the metal strip in the middle got me curious. I hadn't seen that on Slingerlands before either. I took out a screw on the strip and it was obviously put on to cover that the wraps were in two pieces and met in the middle. Looks original and it's not steel. I removed a lug as well to see if the gold sparkle I saw under the hoops was the original color and it clearly is. Amazing how evenly faded it is and looks like a beautiful golden silver now. Still think its a Slingerland?

I sort of suspected the 2 shells by looking at the variation in wrap.. could not see that from the internal pics though... I think now, that somebody has done a custom job on this... The legs do look like those used on the "Single Headed" cocktail drum... lugs hoops etc, look legit.

Hopefully someone else will shed some light...

Cheers

The drum itself is not two pieces, it is one piece, 3 ply. Just the wraps are split in two. It almost seems as if they were at the end of a production run and put it together with the left over parts.

Ok ... looks you are probably correct... I have only seen the standard vertical seam on the cocktail kits... Is your's a larger size perchance?.

23 1/2 was the standard depth and this was just within the 24" wrap width..

Cheers

No, its the standard 23-1/2". You can see the vertical seem if you look close in the pictures up above.
