Thats amazing. I have a Radio king snare from a few years earlier than that, and it's definitely a red glass glitter instead of sparkle. And it's original. I think they went sparkle in the late 50s.

Nice thanks for the pics. They look great. Classic RK sound too. Hope they are keepers.
I like the aged look the glass wraps get.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Beautiful kit some of the best drums that exist.
None that sweet in my neighborhood!
Very nice, ya Slingerland made some killer sounding drums that is for sure!

Beautiful kit! Nice clean up too.
Whats the value of these drums? The bass drum hoops have been painted and the floor tom has two unorigianl tension rods. Other then that the shells and chrome are in very nice shape.
Thanks, Mike
Great resto!
Since these came with calfskins from the factory...I would say to try at least calfs on the top of the toms/snare..and if you can afford it.....a BD batter head...
In fact...just saw yesterday...a very nice 24" calf on ebay for $80!
I did think about some calf skins but didn't like the fact that so many of them looked like they were about to fall apart! The Aquarian American Vintage series is a great head that give you that vintage feel and look. I couldn't be happier how they look and sound! The only thing I have left to do is strip the bass drum hoops and put new inlay in!
