Thanks for the comments guys.

It is a nice little kit for sure and sounds great!

Spot on Cam, footy in these parts is Australian Rules, not soccer.

leedybdp…….the reason the top tom is on snare stand is because the BD

is a virgin, was thinking about putting a rail mount on it but can't bring

myself round to the idea of drilling holes in a vintage drum.

And yeah John a cosy gig it was, a bit of blues and a bit of rock n' roll

good fun stuff to play!

Cheers Stevo.

Let's be honest, footy is only AFL in Vic, SA, WA, TAS and NT while in NSW, ACT, and QLD it's rugby (league and/or union). Soccer, though more popular now than ever, isn't close to the major sport anywhere here (thankfully).

Don't drill! Leave it original and virgin!

A snare stand is fine and if you're worried about it sapping resonance just glue a little foam to the inside of the basket where the tom hoop rests. As long as you don't tighten the basket up on the drum too much that little bit of foam makes it sing like its on a RIMS system.

It's great to see the "Old Girls" at work.....(the Slingys :) )

I hated to see them go, but they found a great home !!

If you would prefer the tom mounted on the bass drum, and (understandably) don't want to drill that bass drum shell, you could use a hoop mount. I've had a few different hoop mounted tom holders. I'm quite partial to this one from the genius Joe Thompson at Rogers.

It's a great little kit, sounds fantastic! Thanks Man.

leedybdp….. Gotta admit I hadn't thought of the hoop mount idea,

I'll look into it, thanks for the tip.

Cheers Stevo.
