I've recently bought a 60's Premier set and I have no slotted key, and I'm tired of using a coin.
Does anybody know if current Sonor slotted keys will work on Premier rods?

It might, but wont stay on by it`self. There are aftermarket keys for you in many online drum stores !!

I don't think so. the newer Sonor keys are made bigger maybe a 60's Sonor key will but they sell for alot on Ebay...If i was you check Ebay for vintage Premier keys or post in the wanted ad's on the forum..You can always used a screw driver too....Mikey
A screw bit holder for a drill gun will work fine
Thanks for answers. I'd prefer a new one. I think vintage ones are for collectors and so are overrated (I don't know if this is the correct word).
I'd like one of these:http://www.sonor.com/pbas/Sonor_FE/sonor/english/kategorie.html?a-quicklink-n_katid=16
So I'll wait for an answer from a Premier & Sonor owner.
Slotted keys are frustratingly dissimilar.
Sonors don't work for Premier, Premier don't work for Trixon, etc.
The barrels have different diameters and the driver (?) sits at different depths so that they don't always reach.
I have a few slotted keys bought on spec that they might fit another company's model with no luck.
That said, if you can get the right key, it will help preserve the tension rods. The alternatives tend to chew up the metal.

Thank you, Patrick.
