For me it's the Yamaha Direct Drive Flying Dragon. The FP9415 and the DFP9415 The original direct drive units that they stopped making in 2008 or 09, now it's just an imitation of a really great pedal.

Speed king hands down.... over 45 years with one and it is still da bomb!
Wow!! Not one Swivo-Matic......... it was good enough for Buddy.
Tried the others and they're great but the Swiv is light, quick and the foot board swivels to the most comfortable position you find.
Just my :2Cents:

I haven't found one yet but am seriously contemplating dropping the loot on one of those Demon Drive or Axis double kick pedals. I am like the golfer who sucks so he buys new clubs every year trying to get instantly better!:(:(:(
For me, I guess if I actually earned a nickel playing drums it would be worth the expense of those things, but this is my current dilemma. Do I spend a mortgage payment on a set of pedals for a hobby? LOL I already know the wife's vote!
Decisions, decisions, decisions...........
I will say the sound king pedal I have, I can't get it to do anything like doubles or triples. It could be and probably is my technique however. I take a size 15 shoe and I am thinking I may need a bigger pedal with a longer footboard or something???

Women must think you're hung like John Holmes! LOL I only wear a size 11 and whenever I used to come home with new shoes, my father, who wore a size 8, always asked me; "Did you get oars with those?" - Funny guy!- Mister T
Dan - do you play heel up, or heel down? (heel/toe) If you're playing flat-footed (like I do,) because of the size of your pods, you might want to try a single-piece footboard. (No hinge at the heel.) See if that doesn't help.
John
Slingerland Yellow Jacket, love them!!!
I have tried a couple different ways and would prefer to play with my heel down on the ground all the time. Mostly because I am tall and in order to get my leg angle to somewhat comfortable to get that "hanging leg" type thing going I see online drummers do that are really fast, I would have to put my throne on blocks, and raise the kit up as well.
I will take a looksie at some singe piece footboards. I have also seen some that offer long as an option, or something equivalent to that. It is funny how the simple things to so many are completely unrealized by yet so many more! I guess that is why I never mind seeing the same questions on here, like clockwork......LOL. I ask my share of "no brainers" as well.....LOL.
Apologies to the OP for the exit ramp to pedal ergonomics off of his which pedal is best highway.....LOL.

2000 year model DW 5000 AD2 it was an AMERICAN made pedal not the crap they sale now. also it has a weight system that bolts to the front sides of pedal board, it significantly increases the stroke force, no longer made this way. the best pedal I have Ever owned. It has seal bearing on all hinge attachment, 0 pedal slop or any lateral moment built like a tank, I have thousands of playing hours on this very pedal.
+1 Only mine are a couple of years older. I also use a heavy wood beater...
I wish Ludwig would make a double speed king pedal.....
I`ll always say it,...The Phonic BD pedal or VM2K and Latz`s, DW 5000 AD2 Phonic copy !!
