Snare for :udwig Rocker Kit Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I have a Ludwig Rocker kit that has the mini classic lugs. What snares came with them? My kit came with an acrolite (gray) blue and olive badge and I really like it but I was thinking about finding a snare that would match it. The one I attached...could it have come with the rockers kits that had the mini classic lugs? If not, anybody have any pics/info on what snares came with the early rockers/phaser?

Hi ardrummer!

Since you mentioned the "mini classic" lugs, I'm thinking the Rocker kits from around 1998. Here's a link of the drums I think you're referring to... http://vintagedrumguide.com/ludwig_drumsets_1998.html

If those aren't the drums in question, just take a look at other catalogs from this link... http://vintagedrumguide.com/ludwig_drumsets.html

Hope this helps!

5 and 6.5 inch snares sound Rock. You don`t want 6 or 8 lugs either, you wont get a response quick enough before the next hit. 10 lugs, 5 or 6.5 snare for no problem Rock snares.

In short, you need as Supra 6.5 or 5 & 3/4.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

thanks for the info! Mine is the old Rocker kit....early 80's. I'm really wanting to get a snare that actually came with the kit originally. Here is a pic of my set. Does the snare I attached in the first one look like what would come with it?

Ok... now I know what you have. Looks like it might be identical to my Rocker II kit, which was from 1986-88. Here are some pictures of it, showing the matching snare drum.

If he's looking for the matching snare, it only comes in an 8-lug, 5x14.

Just saw a Rocker snare drum on eBay that you might be interested in. Item number 322340865915

Chrome wrap, but has the Classic lugs. Only up to $12.50 and ends in 2 days. Might be worth a shot.

My Rocker II kit came with a 6 x 14" chrome over wood snare. You can find them for under $100 if you're lucky. Black and white badge. Loved it.

This one would be a nice fit. I've seen them much cheaper though. Sound very nice!
