I picked up an old 5.5x14 radio king and I look forward to trying that in my quartet. Last gig I used a bronze.

I use the same supra or classic just tune it up a bit I see no need to carry more than one snare drum now if you like the bronze fine or the Black beauty or whatever but just adjust for the room and type of music...

I don't think the drum you use as is important as the type of head you use. Coated is best.

Coated Ambassador's on my Supraphonics. I play brushes on most ballads.
I use a Genera Dry on my wooden Gretsch when I use my Gretsch jazz set.
