You did good...beautiful drums!
So How'd I do...? Ludwig "Ringo" Kit. Last viewed: 1 hour ago
Rather than starting a new thread I'll just ask my question here.
One of the first things I did after getting this kit is order a "The Beatles" decal for the bass drum head. It just occurred to me that perhaps the head on this kit is original in which case I don't want to apply the decal to that. I had always assumed it wasn't but it occurs to me I have no idea.
Are there some tips to figuring out whether it is or not?
well technically the colour is wrong for a Ringo kit and what if you joined a band that wasn't called the Beatles? Might cause some band room tension.
However, if you want to go with the decal you could put it on a new head and put the original (which it may very well be) away somewhere safe.
Wonderful kit and you will enjoy the heck out of it. I have one in Sky Blue Pearl and recently went with the Emperor on top/Ambassador on the bottom head combo some forum members suggested and they really wing. Keep an eye out for a 6-lug Pioneer to match. Those snares sound unbelievable.

Yeah i know it is the wrong color. It's close enough my purposes though. I almost went down the rabbit hole of trying to create an exact match but by the time I was done I know I'd be tired of it.
I LOVE the Blue Oyster Pearl now and I am going to keep it. But in the short term I want to "evoke" The Beatles feel with it as it is mostly a decoration in my sons room.
I just don't want to do anything to hurt the value like defacing an original bass drum head.
