Howdy, folks.
FNG here.
Wayulp, around 1980, I got into using vintage stuff only and then got away from it. Through the course of things, I wound up with a li'l plastic box full of badges. Stuff like at least one of every era of Slingerland; one or two of what I call, "SlingerLeedy' badges (blue oval); keystones, both Ludwig and WFL...lemmesee...a "Ludwigold"; an OLD oval Ludwig; some Gretsch stopsigns; a couple of round Gretsches, both tom and snare; and a Leedy Reliance (this one still has the groomet intact, fer crissake.) There are others...honestly, I just rediscovered this box while I was rootin' around in some stuff that I hadn't stuck my nose into in years.
Is some of this worth anything, do you reckon?
I'd be curious about how to establish some figures, were I to start offin' this stuff.
I imagine Slingerland large ovals, for example, or small brass embossed or script ovals or small copper and black ovals aren't SUPER common, along with the clouds, of course. Hell, I've got some Niles badges that I remember when they were new. (Am I that old?) But...
I've been out of the game for a while so I'm not in touch with things like I used to be. I nosed around on Ebay out of curiosity and some of the "buy it now"'s were surprising but I also know there are some dreamers on Ebay, so how realistic a yardstick Ebay is would be anybody's guess, I'm thinkin'.
Anyway, any input would be welcomed and appreciated.
Love this forum and I applaud you guys' good taste in your appreciation of those drums of which, "they don't make like they yoosta"
