Mitch didn`t revolutionize drumming the way Bonham did, or Jimi did with guitars. Some people would rather give Jimi`s status to Berry, but we know better than that !!

Jimi couldn`t read or write a note,..everything he recorded and sold was half azzed,..but when Jimi went freestyle,..he couldn`t be touched !!

I`m still looking for the drummer that could drop his sticks at any given time durring any given number and play with his bare hands !!

That name would be Fito de la Parra if you do not know who he is you must be young so google him I am 100% sure you have heard of his band Canned Heat been playing since 1966 he is the very best with his hands I have ever seen and I have seen all the greats check him out..

Papa Jo Jones was a fantastic hand drummer. This is one of the most mind blowing solos I know of.

I guess I'm not really into the hand-drumming aspect. Isn't that what congas and bongos are for. I just don't feel it. Sure, I guess it's cool or gimmicky.

Oh Man, What about Joe Morello? wasn't he playing with his hands to crowds when Bonham was still on his little set?

Buddy Rich does a immitation of Papa Joe Jones in the youtube clip entitled Buddy Rich - Fun Drum Solo It's not very poitically correct though, so if you are a sensitive type, you probably should not watch it...

Actually, I think that is a great tribute to Papa Jo. I know that Buddy Rich liked him a lot.

Buddy Rich was fantastic but sometimes when I watch clips with the guy I get the feeling that I'm watching a very efficient machine. When I watch Papa Joe or Max Roach I get a warm, fuzzy, foot tapping feeling!

I don`t see Papa Jo throwing away his pedal and play`n the kick with his tippy toes !! Sh*t, Even I could play a thirty second riff with my hands, but I couldn`t play a whole Led Zeppelin concert with my hands and feet !! Come to think of it, I couldn`t play a whole Led Zeppelin concert with my sticks and pedal either !!

I will check out this Fajita guy and see if he can top the Barrito !!

To be considered the Best, because there really is no such thing, you need to be recognized by any Joe Shmoe or Mary Jane ...global !! Joe Morerllo and Buddy Rich had their fans and popularity, coupled with unbelieveable talent ...but Bonham sticks out like a third leg !!From Panama to Russia to the South Pole,...Bonham was known !! That is your goal as a proffessional drummer, and John hit that goal !! I wouldn`t be surprised if they heard of him on Mars !!

Don`t get me wrong,...I seen local garage drummers do things John never attempted, or like Kieth play`n Magic Bus with only his sticks, and The Beatles,...The Best band ever,...I don`t like but three or four Beatles numbers, but they`re still play`n Beatles on the radio today and you could go anywhere on the planet and say The Beatles,...People would know what you`re talking about, They hit that Goal by revolutionizeing the way music is played. How about Elvis,...He revolutionized they way a front man performs on the stage.
