I don`t see Papa Jo throwing away his pedal and play`n the kick with his tippy toes !! Sh*t, Even I could play a thirty second riff with my hands, but I couldn`t play a whole Led Zeppelin concert with my hands and feet !! Come to think of it, I couldn`t play a whole Led Zeppelin concert with my sticks and pedal either !! I will check out this Fajita guy and see if he can top the Barrito !! To be considered the Best, because there really is no such thing, you need to be recognized by any Joe Shmoe or Mary Jane ...global !! Joe Morerllo and Buddy Rich had their fans and popularity, coupled with unbelieveable talent ...but Bonham sticks out like a third leg !!From Panama to Russia to the South Pole,...Bonham was known !! That is your goal as a proffessional drummer, and John hit that goal !! I wouldn`t be surprised if they heard of him on Mars !!

Holy smokes!! You sound like the President of his fan club! I'm pretty sure it's wholly agreed he was awesome. If Joe Shmoe payed in Zep, he'd be known on Mars, too.

I'm bowing out, now. These things never go anywhere good. Besides, who wants to play drums without sticks? Still not getting how that makes one awesome. Forgetful, maybe. (kidding)

PS - OB, not intending to tick you off. Maybe I've just been feeling debateful. TGIF my forum brothers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I appreciate that. I try to do the same, but sometimes my filter gets stuck.

I will say this one last thing about Sir Bonzo, he had one of, if not THE greatest snare sound known to man. Live, or studio. Some of it's the snare, most of it was him. I was never a big Zep fan, but I have my fav's of theirs. Not sure why, and this might get poo'd on, there is just something about "Celebration Day" on The Song Remains the Same. To this day, I just love that live.

Oops! It's Beer:30. Gotta go check on my daughter's birthday cake in the oven.

Have a great one, O-B.

You guys actually succeeded. You've managed to turn a thread in the Vintage Drum Forum into a pile of immature YouTube tripe.

Wow. Congrats.

Not coming down ... just focusing the light beam on the obvious. It was sad to read this. Sure not judging. I've done it. Passions run deep.

Hmmmm I say that is a matter od Opinion there mr. Rogersling.. :) it is all in good fun and there was not much to the original thread after all JHB played only a few kits and they are highly recognizable .. IMO there is way to much stardom thrown at rock stars due to record sales not talent there was a great little sentence written here in this thread and it said If Joe shmoe had played drums in Led zep he would be known on Mars too.. now that is the fact jack...

Hope no one took offence none was meant .. peace out..

So, Mikey got some rough emails and PMs. All of this was not in good fun as you folks would like to believe.

This forum has skirted and flirted with this road in the past. It's a shame that you've hit smack dab in the middle.

This thread needs to be closed and we need to review it for places we do not wish to revisit.

We all have opinions. But, first and foremost ... we are friends and acquaintences.

I have received no emails or Pm's and I think it is childish to say grown people can not have a conversation about their own opinions, I took no offense at what anyone said to me and I meant none to anyone I think this thread is very mild and has been handled very well by all the participates . To close a thread like this is to censor every thread that asks a opinion about anything , because we all have different opinions and that is what leads us to a higher understanding of our fellow drummers here I have never met any of you and I do not come here for friendship , I come here to share in the world of drums and drumming and the knowledge that it brings me...
