I just finished restoring these... and unfortunately I find myself with too many pedals. I know, it's impossible...
Here's the scoop: I'm selling the Speed King for $80, and ONE of the Slingerland for $70.

Both have new bearings. The Speed King foot board has been bead blasted, then about 4 coats of clear enamel. The places where there used to be metal to metal contact, the hinge point of the footboard, and where the strap attaches, now all have plastic bushing. Meaning no squeek. The connecting 'strap' is new; it's a little shorter, and is heavier metal. It also has new springs, new bearing caps. Jeez! Why am I selling this??!! I am for sure losing money, but the fun is in the re-building!
The Slingerland Tempo Kings also have new bearings, and new leather straps. Plastic bushing on the footboard hinges, too. The black frame has a bead blasted footboard with clear enamel. The green frame has a polished footboard -- really cool. The green paint is a 'spatter' type, and has a little texture to it. On both, tab where the spring attaches have been re-drilled, threaded, and are tight - there is always a bit of play in these, and you can feel it.
These are WONDERFUL pedals to play. Very smooth, easy feathering, and super comfortable. I know they're pretty cheap on ebay, but these are really restored to a T, and are (IMHO) better than new. Slingerland's engineering and design is very good, and these reflect it.

Whatever the shipping is (you choose between parcel post or Priority Mail), I'll pay half of it.
Send an email to me at - I can check that at work, but can't sign onto the forum. Go figure.
These are a great deal -- no kidding.
