Is there a easy way to get the bearings out of the post on a speed king?
I know they come out. I have the caps off and wanted to soak the bearings.

Once you take the screws outta the bottom and let the spring and shaft fall out, the bearrings should pull right out, flush the whole thing out and I used red axle grease to restore !!
Ok will try that. It is a old WFL pedal and I guess there just stuck in there with gunk. Can't get a good grip on them with the tweezers.
Still haven't been able to get them out. I sprayed them with wd40 but can't get a grip on the outside wheel. Everything else is clean and ready to go.
Have you tried moveing the knuckle in between the posts and shakeing it or tapping it at the same time ? It sounds like it is rusted to the cast !!
Success! Tap tap tap. One came out pretty easy. The second one took quite a few taps and I had to keep cleaning around the outside of the bearing caseing. it finally. Fell out. They were turning ok but have gunk in them. I can see that it is a must to remove the bearings and clean them. I have seen where some folks skip this step. You have to clean or replace these for a proper cleaning and top performance. Soaking them in a pill bottle of Acetone tonight. All the components of this pedal are in great shape for a late 50's early 60's WFL pedal.
I am thinking of using AGS Motor & bearing assembly oil. Only 2 or 3 dollars and looks like it might work in my Musser M55 Vibes motor too. I am open to suggestions on that. Also had another Speed King that the knuckle part inside that the pushrod goes against is broken on one side. Was looking at those bearings and they are different than the ones in this old WFL pedal. The actual ball bearings are not as enclosed as the WFL's.
Got it all cleaned, bearings cleaned and oiled and all back together. It is so smooth and fast. Working great. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
