Hey SK users, where are your spring screws set? Flush to the base, mid-way or cranked all the way in? And why do you adjust the way you do?
Very curious.

I like mine with a very light resistance, so one or two turns in only. And how about you?

I like mine alittle tight about 6/7 turns in....Mikey
Back in the 80`s when I was doing speed metal, I would crank in the screw so the batter would only back off a little bit and the pedal would be low. If you do a variety of covers and do longer beats, in the middle makes the travel time longer and the pedal a little less stiff and higher. All the way out is for those guys that step the pedal, the travel time is loooong and it`s easier to keep your foot on the pedal cuz it`s gonna come way up !!
Or did I get that backwards,...I can`t recall just yet, but that`s what it does, low pedal, short travel time and high pedal, long travel time !!
Example:...Hold your hand a half inch off the table and tap it as fast as you can,...then hold your hand four inches off the table and do the same,....you`ll see !!

Well up to now, I've pretty much left it as I found it (before taking apart to clean & lube) just a little in from flush kind of like you Magnus.
However, reading odball and mikeys comments made much sense to me and I'm going to go home and try cranking the screws more.
I've always felt that there was way too much travel before impact. Now I know why.
Thanks.
