Stolen Pictures Alert Last viewed: 1 day ago

As some of you know....... I used to own an Ayotte Custom 1995, Ray Ayotte era 22-12-16. I sold this set last year for 850.00. I had it ten years, I paid 468.00 for the three drums at two seperate pawn shops with H&B cases in April 2001. I kept the cases, and the Ayotte Custom snare drum I purchased a couple years later at Music Go Round. The snare had originally came with the set when it was new.

Not long after the sale, the buyer... stole my pictures from my Webshots page and posted the set for sale. I dont care if he sells it. I dont care if he makes money on it. I did fine. What I do care about is that the asshat stole my photos of the drumset. We went round and round about the photo theft last year. Now, I just call a thief a thief.

It is listed again on Sacramento CA Craigslist and again the Asshat is using my stolen photos to sell the drums.

I just want everyone to know ........ those are my photos. But you are not dealing with me in a sale. I do not own the drums. This person is a thief. Do not deal with him.

You might want to watermark all the pictures you post to the web from now on. This way there's no doubt they are yours no matter who lifts/steals them. I understand your main worry is that potential buyers may think it's you they are dealing with. But as far as the photos if they are watermarked by you there's no way he or anyone can prove otherwise. This happens quite often in the classic car arena. Scammers even setup fake auction/sales to lure in novice buyers.

Post your own listing using RE: His Post Subject and state the photos are stolen. "What is really for sale if the photos are stolen."

That will get some attention from the seller.

So much of this photo swiping stems from plain old laziness. What's so difficult about taking a quick, original snapshot with a cell phone or camera? Personally, I would never consider using a photo of my drums taken by a previous owner, because I know I could probably take a better photo myself.

The watermark's a good idea, but those can be removed with any photo editor application.
