Nice looking. :)

I must be turning into the kind of nerd which I dislike in others, but...

In my limited experience, some of those parts are from quite different time periods. Blue/olive badges don't go with the FT legs with the knurling which goes for that length. The old ones had quite a short length of knurling. I know because it isn't long enough to adjust my FT to where I like it and still be on the knurling. Those are modern style Ludwig FT legs (which fixed that issue).

The rubber tips on the FT legs don't look like Ludwig ones to me. I know because I bought some which I thought were right and somebody much more knowledgeable than I am saw them and said "ah, Slingerland tips".

The rail mount top is the index circle design which stopped before Blue/olive badges came on the scene. It should have the toothed version. If I remember correctly you have the toothed version on one or another of your bass drums.

I'm just pointing these things out in case you bought this as "100% all original". None of this makes it look less beautiful or sound less pleasing to the ears. It's just a collector thing.

Picky, picky, picky....

I just received this beautiful red sparkle Jazzette set earlier this week out of S. California and I have not had any time to go through and correct all the non-original parts that have mysteriously appeared on it over the past 40 years. It still has road dust and dirt on it... but look at that bright red sparkle!!!

Overall, I'm very pleased with this set. It's a numbers matching set, no mods with no extra holes on this kit. At the seam area on the 12x8 the wrap needs some glue... but all original parts inside the shells are there.

The Bad: Part of the original B/O pointy badge on the bass drum was bent off so that will need to be replaced at some point. Both spurs are bent some. The front hoop is not original. Yes, the FT legs are not correct and Yes, the script style rail mount is not the correct one so I have some searching to do to make this a 99.9% clean Jazzette kit. I will take more pictures this weekend but for now ENJOY the link...

Oh, my numbers matching mahogany Jazzette is date stamped Nov 1970. The set is next in line to be restored. As you can see both hoops are not original (I have the original hoops). Over the last 40 years the rail mount has created a very small crack in the shell right below the B/O badge on the bass drum.

The natural maple bass drum is a original 12x18 Keystone Jazzette bass with no mods or extra holes date stamp Dec 1969. Maybe one day, I will be able to complete this .... if only I can find some 1969 natural maple Keystone 12 and 14 toms to go with it.

So what's your "thing" about Jazzettes?

Never play it the same way once.

Here here! Please pick the most un-original kit and make me a price on it, I'll live with it I promise!

Believe it or else!
