That Kev is pure rim shot fever! :)

I'd never thought much of six lug snares... about twenty years ago I picked up a student Slingy in very near mint WMP with the Slingy snare case, music stand and some fairly gnawed sticks. I just stuffed it in the garage until a couple years ago...

WOW!

Was I surprised when I pulled off (and kept) the original heads, and tuned it up with new... WOOT! Those are fine snare drums! Like I said, I'd never been much on six luggers, but it's in the arsenal now, and gets played pretty regularly.

Yep, the red glitter is a six lug.... all the ones with single flange hoops and clips are eight, the aluminum shell is ten....
