hi

i just bought these super ludwig snare and leedy reliance.

please help me tell me more about these snares.

era?

super ludwig i think about 20s? or 40?

leedy as on top skin some one mark is 20s or late 30s is it right?

how much are they value?

how to clean brass shell of super ludwig?

the throw off 's super ludwig is enought part or missing ? needed snare for sure....

for leedy shell

the paint is it original or re-painted?

at badge some one painted but the color lighter the shell , i will try to take it off

i think throwoff missing part.

what kind of wood is it?

That Super Ludwig is....well, SUPER! It's nickel plated which is not as hard as chrome so clean it gently with a mild metal polish...NO steel wool or abrasives.

Here are some photos of the Super Ludwig showing the strainer. Yes, you are missing parts. Puresound has a snare wire replacement that will work once you find the missing parts.

It appears if the badge is painted then the shell was painted also. I have never seen someone just paint a badge. The difference in color could just be how the paint aged on the metal then the wood.

Besides the parts for the Super mechanism be sure to change out those Phillips screws on the snare guards...8-32 slotted is the correct fix for that.

With all the era-correct parts and a good cleaning your drum will be worth 700.00 to 1200.00+...good luck.
