Supreme drums Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Was in an antique shop on the weekend. The guy had a bunch of musical instruments on display. I asked him if he had any drums and he pointed to a Slingerland single tension parade drum (which I bought) $75.00 and a yellowed WMP Supreme drum set up on top of a display counter.

The set had a snare-rack tom-floor tom-bass drum-one ride and hh. The heads and cymbals looked very cheaply made, the shells looked to be in vgc but the price $1,200.00!

I passed and said Good Luck to him

Anyone know the background history of Supreme drums ? I collect mostly marching drums so not up,on my set history etc.

Hello, CANDRUMMER,

Supremes were a stencil of Star Drums. I have a mint set in BDP. With proper tuning and good heads, they can be coaxed to sound fairly good! You were wise however, to pass. If the seller were asking a thousand less, I would have grabbed them. Smart move.

Brian

P.S. I'm in Port Colborne, Ontario. Where are you?

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.
