Has anyone ever took their drum set and set it up to play left handed all the way and play that way for a month or two in that position? I wonder what that would do? And if so, did it help you? Or give you a different perspective? Cause sometimes I feel like I'm a better left handed drummer than right, but I'm right handed. Just curious on your thoughts, thanks! Clapping Happy2

No, but it's a brilliant idea for anybody who wants to get comfortable with open-handed technique quickly! It would force you to do stuff like ride with the left hand which is an important skill for any open-handed drummer. As crazy as your suggestion sounds on the surface, it can be put to good use!

Too many great drums to list here!

Hate to say it, but I find myself getting "bored" playing cross handed and find myself switching to open-hand just to keep my left side strong.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

BT,DT.

Try playing with no cymbals. Keep the Hi-Hat just for giggles but, no other cymbals.

That will change your perspective!
