Tama imperial star and Gretsch. 1970's-80's Help please! :D Last viewed: 3 minutes ago

Hello! First post! I was given this kit a year ago and i love it, it's an 1980's Tama imperial star kit in black with titan cymbal stands, hohner, paiste, stagg cymbals, pearl hi-hat stand and snare stand, a double bass pedal 7 toms. and a few extras. I'm very keen to know the value and everything you know about it! Also with it is a 1975 Gretsch 4165 chrome over brass snare, & With Gretsch 42 strand power snare. Any help will be appreciated. And obviously i'll post pics as soon as i can! :D

Wow, looks like a fun playground back there! Who would give you that?? I wish I knew someone who would give me a complete huge kit!!!

I know that the Imperialstars were more of an introductory kit back then and have been reintroduced. So they don't fetch a whole lot, but having an entire 8 piece kit with stands can add to the value depending on condition. But the snare, well that's another thing. Depending on condition it can be almost as valuable as the other 8 tubs.

Imperialstars of this era-say 77-82 were NOT introductory drums.Those were the main line,and very well constructed.The older ones have reinforcement rings inside and would also have the wrench type tom tree.A very good score my friend...Burger Kin

The 78 catalog in the drum guide says this is a "Saturn VII" kit.
