I'm sure you guys have heard about the new Powerstroke 3 Felt strip Fiberskyn drum heads that Remo came out with at this year's NAMM..So instead of buying a new head, i decided to try and imitate that idea and create my own Remo P3 Fiberskyn drum head. I used the Fiberskyn 3 head that i head on my vintage 20x14 Stewart BD, which i'll be restoring and rewrapping..The results were actually quite good ! Some carpenter's glue, a felt strip cut exactly in the same manner and size as Remo did theirs, and voilĂ  !Instant Fiberskyn Felt strip P3 head.. The only difference is that mine doesn't have the extra internal dampening ring around the collar, but then again i don't like my BD heads too muffled, and like that wide open sound.

When tapped with my finger in comparison to the way it was before and to the post result, there's a significant difference..Perfectly muffled, with still enough resonance to let the head breathe..I highly recommend all users of Ambassadors, Emperors, in both coated and Fiberskyn, to try it out. Although it's fair to say that i didn't put it on the actual BD yet, but my ears can tell that it's already sounding great and will sound even better when installed on the drum itself..

Just thought i'd share my :2Cents: !:D
